Virgil Hill is pushed closer to retirement as Firat Arslan takes his version of the WBA cruiserweight crown in Dresden.
Arslan Defeats Hill Claims Crown
In a battle of two senior citizens from the cruiserweight division it was the younger man who emerged victorious. 37-year-old challenger Firat Arslan captured the WBA cruiserweight title by scoring a 12 round unanimous decision over the 43-year-old American veteran and former light-heavyweight champion Virgil Hill. The lefthander from Rottweil, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, who was born in Turkey, simply had too much power on his punches for the American champion Hill.
