Top-ranked North Carolina’s latest lopsided victory didn’t matter much in the locker room. Not after the Tar Heels lost a key contributor for the rest of the season. Tyler Hansbrough scored 26 points and Wayne Ellington added a career-high 23 to help North Carolina beat Nevada 106-70 on Thursday night, but the Tar Heels lost junior guard Bobby Frasor to a knee injury in the second half.

Sutton to be interim coach at San Francisco
Jessie Evans was expected to resign Wednesday night as basketball coach at San Francisco, which lost five of its last six games in addition to the NCAA suspension of one of its international players, The Associated Press has learned. The coach had a meeting scheduled with athletic director Debra Gore-Mann earlier in the day. USF said a major announcement was planned for Wednesday night.
