UCLA forward Gordon’s knee injury not serious
Drew Gordon of UCLA won’t require surgery on the partially torn patellar tendon in his right knee that he injured during tryouts for the U.S. team in the under-19 world basketball championships. The sophomore forward had an MRI exam Thursday that showed the injury is minor, a team spokesman said. After a week of rest, Gordon will begin rehabilitation. He was hurt Tuesday in Colorado Springs, Colo. Last season, Gordon averaged 3.6 points and 3.

Police in Los Angeles say former Southern California basketball player Stais Boseman has been arrested for allegedly taking part in a carjacking.
Tulsa coach Wojcik agrees to 6-year deal (AP)
Tulsa basketball coach Doug Wojcik has agreed to a new six-year contract to remain with the Golden Hurricane. Tulsa athletic director Bubba Cunningham said the new deal adds a two-year extension to Wojcik's previous contract, which now runs through the 2014-15 season. The deal could keep Wojcik at Tulsa until he turns 51 years old.
