Wake Forest men's basketball coach Dino Gaudio, center, talks to reporters during the team's media day in Winston-Salem, N.C., Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007. For the first time since 2000, Gaudio won't share the bench with Skip Prosser. After taking over the grief-stricken Wake Forest program following the death of his best friend, Gaudio is looking to carry the Demon Deacons forward in Prosser's memory.

Skip Prosser always used to tease Jamie Skeen about his braided hair, urging him to cut it by trying to convince the Wake Forest forward that those cornrows slowed him down on the court. These days, Skeen’s hair is close-cropped, as a tribute to his late coach. “When he passed away, I thought that was the least I could do for him,” Skeen said.

Florida’s rebuilding project began with a couple of relocations. First, coach Billy Donovan returned to Gainesville after an awkward few days as head coach of the Orlando Magic. Then, Jonathan Mitchell, Marreese Speights and Dan Werner moved into the same on-campus apartment shared by Corey Brewer, Taurean Green, Al Horford and Joakim Noah the last two years.
