Obama: Wish I was a better golfer
President Barack Obama says he doesn’t like his golf swing and the ball never goes where he wants. Obama told Russian state-run Rossiya TV and ITAR-TASS news agency that he’s been working on his golf game lately. However, he disclosed in the interview that he hasn’t had much success. The president, who has been playing golf most weekends with aides, says he thinks he should be good at the game. Yet his shots never seem to go straight.
Woods wins his tournament with a late birdie
Tiger Woods has won the AT&T National, making a 20-foot birdie on the 16th and closing with a 3-under 67 to hold off Hunter Mahan for a one-shot victory at Congressional. Woods won for the third time this year, living up to his hopes of being a “greedy host” at his own tournament. He goes to the top of the PGA Tour money list and the FedEx Cup standings for the first time this year. Woods has won all three tournaments this year in his final start before a major, with the British Open next.
