With statement and refusal to talk to police, Tiger Woods makes himself perfectly clear
Tiger Woods’s post-accident strategy, legal and otherwise, is now becoming clear: say as little as possible. And do whatever he can to make sure his wife, Elin Nordegren Woods, does the same. On his website on Sunday, Woods released a brief statement, acknowledging the obvious, that the situation is “embarrassing” and “stressful,” but asking for “some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.”

Stanford University is an open-door kind of place, and a sunny Thursday afternoon in one of the dorms provided views of students conspicuously avoiding schoolwork. In one room a dude thrashed on Guitar Hero. Across the hallway a coed gossiped on the phone while eating a bowl of Cocoa Puffs. A little farther down the hall five smart, sarcastic, giggly women were watching homemade music videos on a pink laptop and creating the menu for a barbecue they planned to host that evening.
Woods pulls out of own tournament
Tiger Woods withdraws from this week’s Chevron World Challenge, a tournament he has hosted for the past nine years, because of injuries sustained in a car crash.
