Dearest Tricksi takes La Brea Stakes at Santa Anita (AP)

Dearest Tricksi led from gate-to-wire to win the $250,000 La Brea Stakes at Santa Anita on Saturday. Ridden by Mike Smith, Dearest Tricksi went straight to the front of the field of 11 3-year-old fillies and finished 1 1/2 lengths in front of Unspoken Word, covering 7 furlongs in 1:21.06 for her fifth straight victory.


Cher Ami beats Change Up at Calder Race Course (AP)
Cher Ami beat Change Up by 5 3/4 lengths in the $100,000 Chaposa Springs Handicap, one of four $100,000 races Saturday at Calder Race Course. Cher Ami, ridden by Ariel Smith, ran 7 furlongs in 1:24.23, and paid $6.20, $2.80 and $2.10. Change Up returned $2.80 and $2.20, and Running Lass paid $3.00 to show.

Naughty New Yorker wins Aqueduct’s Robb Handicap again (AP)

Naughty New Yorker scored a repeat victory Sunday in the $83,375 Alex M. Robb Handicap for New York breds at Aqueduct. The margin was much closer this time. Naughty New Yorker beat Shuffling Maddnes by only three quarters of a length after prevailing by 2 3/4 lengths last year. The time was 1:44.32 for the 1 1-16 miles on the good track.
