Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary’s famed acumen and self-confidence briefly deserted him when he failed to back his own horse Hear The Echo to win the Irish Grand National at odds of 33-1.

Processor’s Turf wins Santa Anita feature (AP)
Processor’s Turf charged from last to win a four-horse photo finish in Monday’s $54,312 feature at Santa Anita. Ridden by Mike Smith, Processor’s Turf covered 6 1/2 furlongs on the hillside turf course in 1:12.81 and paid $23, $10.60 and $6.40 at 10-1 odds. Capture the Call returned $11.20 and $6.60, while Devils Afleet was another head back in third and paid $5 to show.
