Memorial Day Stakes Attracts Nine
Rolbea Thoroughbreds’ 4-year-old homebred Finallymadeit was the ‘Iron Horse’ of South Florida last year. He made 19 starts with eight victories and four seconds, earned $362,000, and all but one of those starts came in sprint races for trainer Javier Negrete.
New Jersey Classic eliminations at Meadowlands (AP)
Cold Cape Cod and Daley Deposit Only both used strong stretch runs to win elimination races Saturday night at the Meadowlands for the $500,000 Anthony Abbatiello New Jersey Classic. The top five finishers in each race advanced to the finals at the track on May 31. That race is the top event for New Jersey-sired 3-year-old colt pacers and the richest of state-bred stakes.
