The Buffalo Bills signed quarterback Gibran Hamdan to the roster today, the team announced. With Brian Brohm scheduled to start and Trent Edwards expected to not play again this season, Ryan Fitzpatrick is banged-up, too.. Hamdan was with the Bills for the first nine weeks of the season before being cut Nov. 19.

Even though he didn’t start for the first time in his NFL career, Cowboys outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware was named NFC defensive player of the week for his performance in the Cowboys’ upset win over the Saints. Ware, who was playing with a sprained neck, finished with two sacks and two forced fumbles. He’s the only player in the league who has had 10 or more sacks in the past four seasons and he now has 11 for the season.

With San Diego Chargers center-guard Scott Mruczkowski placed on injured reserve today with a high-ankle sprain, the AFC West leaders signed former Cincinnati Bengals center and Kansas City Chiefs Eric Ghiaciuc today. And center Nick Hardwick is working his way back from a serious ankle injury suffered in the season opener. Ghiaciuc was cut by the Chiefs following training camp.
