No more than 10,000 standing-room-only tickets should be sold at future Dallas Cowboys games, after police briefly lost control of an unruly crowd outside Cowboys Stadium on Sunday night just before the inaugural regular-season home game, Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck told the Star-Telegram on Monday. Cluck said he asked Cowboys officials Monday to limit Party Pass sales to 10,000 per game, or roughly 5,000 people for each end zone after police nearly lost control of the overflowing crowd on Sunday Night. “They put up barricades and the people ignored them. There [were] beer bottles flying around and a lot of pushing and shoving,” Cluck told the Star-Telegram. “I don’t think we want to see a repeat of that,” he said. Team officials said that they are working with Cluck to set new limits, but that no agreement had been reached as of late Monday.

Glenn Pakulak and A.J. Trapasso are among the punters scheduled to work out for the Titans on Tuesday. Craig Hentrich suffered a calf injury in Sunday’s loss to the Texans, and it appears there’s a chance he could be placed on Injured Reserve, which would end his season. “I don’t know the extent of what is going on with Craig, I just know they’re going to take a look at us tomorrow,” Pakulak said on Monday evening. “Hopefully I can go in there and punt well and things will work out.” Pakulak and Trapasso can both hold on kicks, something Fisher said would be a requirement.

Buccaneers WR Antonio Bryant, who missed Sunday’s loss at Buffalo, is unsure when he will play again because of a bone bruise and doctors have no prognosis for when he will be able to play, Bryant said. The injury is unrelated to the preseason surgery he had to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. “I’m trying to put myself in a position where I don’t have to be on and off it during the week,” Bryant said. “We’ll definitely let it heal completely. It’s not necessarily anything with the surgery. The surgery went well. It’s just a bone bruise, a bone colliding with another bone. You can’t heal a bone bruise.” Bryant hopes to play Sunday against the Giants at Raymond James Stadium. “I feel better, regardless,” Bryant said. “I want to play. I just don’t want it to be something that lingers. I’m going to go out there and get the proper medication to deal with the pain, regardless. I just don’t want to keep it lingering.”

Steelers strong safety Tyrone Carter could join starter Troy Polamalu out of the lineup this week when the Steelers open competition in the AFC North Division at Cincinnati. Carter came out of the 17-14 loss Sunday in Chicago with a severely bruised left thigh, the result of his thunderous hit on Bears tight end Greg Olsen that left them both shaken. Ryan Mundy could well move into the starting job at strong safety if Carter cannot play or they have options with two veteran cornerbacks, Deshea Townsend and Keiwan Ratliff, who have practiced at safety.
