Tsonga withdraws from French Open
Australian Open runner-up Jo-Wilfried Tsonga withdrew from the French Open on Saturday because of an injured right knee and is expected to have surgery next week. Nicolas Kiefer of Germany and Fabio Fognini of Italy also pulled out a day before the clay-court major begins. Tsonga, who was seeded 14th and is ranked 15th, has been bothered by his knee for about a month. On Friday, the Frenchman withdrew from his semifinal in Casablanca, Morocco.
