Harmon, not McEnroe, to coach U.S. at Olympics
Davis Cup captain Patrick McEnroe has decided not to return as U.S. Olympic tennis coach. Instead, Rodney Harmon will lead the United States’ men’s tennis team at the Beijing Games, pending U.S. Olympic Committee approval. Jay Berger has been chosen as Harmon’s assistant. McEnroe tells The Associated Press about his choice to bypass Beijing about a week after word emerged that Andy Roddick will skip the Olympics to focus on the U.S. Open.
